Fashion Rocks Concert 2008

If you didn’t get the memo, I’m back. And, of course I’ve missed you! Well, ladies, it’s New York Fashion Week, which means it’s time to celebrate! I’ve been dying to throw this post up, but couldn’t because of “technical difficulties”. So, please, excuse my tardiness on this post. And, oh — did I tell you that I met Tommy Hilfiger last week?!?! — Well, maybe not Tommy, but I did meet his sister, Betsy, and she is amazing! I got to see Tommy’s full spring ‘09 line, and even the beginning sketches and looks for fall ‘09! But anywho, on to Fashion Rocks, which airs tonight, might I add — Tuesday, Sept 9th, 9pm est, on CBS. Don’t miss it!
Of course, Miss Rihanna was there. She showed up in a belted Monique Lhuillier gown and cartier jewels. I can’t wait to see her performance, because from the looks of the pics, she was the showstopper of the night. But, don’t worry, I don’t have my hopes up because I’m used to her being such a dead performer! I will add that her little sequined, outfit was a tad bit too tight — look at her chest!
Oh Beyoncé, how dissapointed of you I am. I’m first suprised that she even showed up in such a simple dress by Costume National, but that would only mean one thing — the worst was yet to come! Bey performed an old motown hit(sources say), with Justin Timberlake, while wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring ‘08 gaudy jumpsuit, and performed a tribute to legendary singer, Etta James, in a short blonde wig. Eventhough she may have looked like a grandma, or a hippie — one things for sure — she loves to play dress up!
Solo killed the red carpet in this jeweled, feathered piece from the Armani Privé Spring ‘08 collection. She redeemed herself with that colorful, fabulous performance outfit! You can tell they’re related, though. [Solo & Bey]
Mariah looked fab in her black and silver Pamella Roland gown. I love her.
I wonder what Fergie performed. She hit the stage twice, looking fab. I like the whole outfit. She definitely could’ve done without rocking it again. Still love her!
Whoa! Where did they think they were going?! Uhh! Anyways, I hate the song, but I wanna see the performance. They look so fierce performing.
Leona bores me for some reason. I think Lydia’s hungry. Leighton — I love you! She looks like she’s on her way to a Toga party though.
Miley looked super-cute in this sequined Zuhair Murad mini — perfect for a 16yr old, or 15, whichever! I’m still waiting on Hayden’s dress. It doesn’t say much.
One thing I like about Ciara is that she knows how to pick ‘em. This figure-flattering Elie Saab gown looks great on her! Keyshia. Hey. [*rolls eyes*] But, atleast she threw on some fab Christian Louboutin pumps! Have you ever seen those up close?! — They make my mouth water!
My bestiiz for life! Ci stood tall in a pair of all black Versace ‘08 pumps for the ‘Stand Up’ performance, while ‘Shanti looked amazing in an embellished fuschia Marchesa dress.

I knew Fergie’s Gucci dress looked familiar, Shantee! Everyone in Hollywood apparently can’t get enough of Gucci F/W ‘08 collection.

Hayden’s dress is actually a nice one, it looks better on the runway though. If you look at pics of that dress from the runway–there will be a big difference, just because of the way the light hits the dress and the details of the dress come out a whole lot more than it does on the red carpet.

every single performance was good. the fashion errr…i like pcd for being true to who they are despite the critism that they are too provactive newsflash these are the pussy-cat-dolls they are a burlesque group turned pop group. cmon now. i like that beyonce is stayin true to her diva texas iloveglitter self. she is talented first and fashionista second. alot of others are hit and miss. love shani, cici (fab dress girl), solange keep being ur cooky self she reminds me of the fearless diva’s of the 60’s. do u! most look like their trying to hard (i c u lilmama n tyra b) rihanna (sigh) she’s fashionable that’s all im gonna say on that one folks. ie. if u saw the show count how many people lipsynced their performances……..thats right jus one. but she looks fab!
