Celeb Events of the Week: Whitney Port + Gucci + Giambattista Valli + The Kardashians

Whitney Port And Friends Host Friday Night At Jet Nightclub At The Mirage

Have I ever expressed my true feelings of Whitney Port to you? If you’re wondering, I LOVE HER! She’s just the sweetest thing. So talented, hard-working, fashionable, and grown. I love and respect any young fashionista who is on her grind and making big things happen for herself. I like to call that “shutting it DOWN!”

She recently hosted a party at Jet Nightclub in Las Vegas with a few friends including her pal Samantha Swetra (also from The City).

Gucci Icon-Temporary Flash Sneaker Store Launch

Like so many other designers (Rachel Roy & Tory Burch), Gucci has decided to open a pop-up store (or temporary flash store, as they would like to call it) in New York City. After a blowout bash at the shop and an after-party at the Bowery Hotel on Friday night, the Gucci Icon-Temporary store at 43 Crosby Street in NYC is now open for business. Mark Ronson has designed an exclusive Gucci sneaker, and the boutique will remain open for two weeks or until the sneaks sell out, whichever comes first. Miami, London, and Tokyo are next. Icon-Temporary sneakers are priced from $500 to $1,400, and Gucci Ronson shoes, $500 to $600. Don’t get too excited ladies. Out of the 18 styles, only 2 are for women! Yeah. Thanks.

Attendee Claire Danes wore a striped Gucci Resort 2010 dress and Gucci heels. Evan Rachel Wood chose a one-shouldered design from the Gucci Fall 2009 collection, and paired it with Gucci heels.

Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, of course rocked her own designs. Actress Mischa Barton wore a black long-sleeved mini with a deep cut opening in the neck. I love the sequin detail.

Gucci’s new spokesperson, Mary J Blige, and DJ/Model Leigh Lezark came out for the special occasion, donning Gucci designs as well.
