Winter Trends: Dressy Jackets

Dressy jackets are my absolute favorites when it comes to this year’s Winter trends. They can be paired with any look, whether night or day, and I love how they give that added pizazz! Like in the first look above, they can be worn to work or dinner with friends. Look #3 can be worn to any holiday party this year or a night out on the town. And look #4 can be worn on your “Girls Day [or Night] Out” — shopping, nail salon, lunch, etc.

Zoe Saldana, one of my fave fashionistas of ‘09, attended an Armani Store Opening event back in February wearing a lovely velvet jacket with her Armani Prive strapless dress. She proves that not only can dressy jackets be paired with pants and leggings, but dresses as well.

Rachel Bilson, another one of my fave fashionistas, hosted a Dolce & Gabbana event last winter while sporting a fab blue sequined blazer from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2009 collection. When working this trend, be sure to keep the rest of your ensemble very simple; plain top, skinnies, pumps. The sequins are already OTT (over-the-top), so to add another statement piece to this look would just ruin it all together.
