Nicki Minaj finally released the music video to her single ‘Moment 4 Life’ (ft. Drake), last night on MTV. The song is OK in my opinion, but with the overexposure and excessive radio play, the lyrics have been burned into my brain. Thanks Nicki!

As for the video — I like. I think the ‘Cinderella’ theme is really cute, I love the Drake collaboration, and I am really getting to that point where I appreciate how much Nicki believes in her brand. Like the whole alter-ego(s) thing! Other entertainers have tried to bring their alter-egos to the forefront, but most have failed. We’ve also learned that Nicki attended a performing arts high school and studied acting/theater, so I’m glad she tries to exercise that and build the “Nicki Minaj” brand around all the dramatics.

As for the fashion, Nicki says she was inspired by the regal, romantic attire of Shakespeare’s era.

“I wanted to take a step away from, like, high fashion or, like, [a] hip-hop, sporty type of look and into just, like, real flowy and just to play dress-up,” she said. “I was envisioning a Shakespeare time, and I figured, ‘What would they wear?’ I felt like the first outfit kinda looked like, almost like you’re in Egypt somewhere back in the day, like a long time ago,” she added of the bejeweled draped blue dress.

During her appearance on E!’s ‘Fashion Police,’ Nicki revealed that she rocked Fergie’s New Year’s Eve dress — a deep chartreuse strapless studded minidress, with a long tulle train — in the ‘Moment 4 Life’ video. And, I am in loveeee with those sequined Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps!! I DIE, I DIE!!

Kelis is super strong in her video for “Brave,” the new single from her awesome album Flesh Tone.  The video was directed by Rankin, who also was the creative genius behind her “Acapella”  and “4th of July (Fireworks)” videos. In the video Kelis stands strong against an all white backdrop singing about her separation from  rapper Nas and rising above it all.  The video is very basic, but the song speaks volumes. With both artist’s albums due out later this month, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have teamed up to record a new song titled “Raining Men” for Rihanna’s LOUD album. The two also did a second song together titled “Fly,” which will be featured on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday album. The full “Raining Men” song isn’t out yet, but I’m actually feeling the promo snippets. What says you? — Hate it or love it?!

Multi-platinum-selling and Grammy-winning global superstar, Nelly Furtado premiered her new video for “Night Is Young,” the first single off her upcoming album — ‘The Best Of Nelly Furtado.’ The album, which is due in stores on November 16th, is a ”greatest hits” package that takes a look back at a simply sensational and genuinely global first decade for the acclaimed Canadian-born singer-songwriter.

“Night Is Young” is co-produced by Salaam Remi (who has worked with Nas, The Fugees, Amy Winehouse) and Staybent Krunk-A-Delic, and co-written by Nelly Furtado.

This is definitely one of my favorite videos from Nicki Minaj. Though the hair is a bit blahhh, I thought she did an excellent job as far as acting goes. She has said numerous times that she went to Laguardia High School in New York City for singing and acting. So, it’s really nice to see a side of her that we haven’t before — a quieter, not-so over-dramatic Nicki. Her debut album, ‘Pink Friday’, hits stores on November 22nd! …You know you’ll be buying it!
