What a way to ring in the new year! I would love to be sipping on a smoothie like Solange who’s in Miami, or relaxing on my yacht like Beyonce + Jay-Z in St. Barts. All these celebs were spotted far away from home, whether it be in Puerto Rico or some other exotic island.

Unless Lindsay Lohan’s wearing a bikini, I forget how great her body looks. She was spotted earlier today on the beach in Miami, accompanied by her little brother Michael Lohan Jr. Last week, Mariah and Nick Cannon were in Aspen skiing and enjoying their Christmas holiday. But, yesterday they were photo’d at Nikki Beach Resort in St.Barts sipping on wine. Talk about jet setting, huh?

Solange looked super-cute in her vintage swimdress and black Ray-Ban designer shades as she, like Lindsay, soaked up the Miami Beach sun with a friend. Despite divorce rumors, Marc and J.Lo enjoyed a family dinner at old town San Juan eatery Marmalade, in Puerto Rico. Jennifer looked classy, as usual, in a chiffon-sleeved LBD and satin burgundy pumps.

* Though it may be freezing cold where you are (New York) or hot as hell (Florida), make sure you ring in the New Year with some kind of fun and excitement. Even if it’s nothing TOO spectacular, just get out of the house. Smooches everyone. Love You. Happy New Year!

Carmen Electra, Keyshia Cole, and Kim Kardashian were each photo’d in the same Dolce & Gabbana dress. Paired with suede beige YSL pumps, Carmen wore hers over the summer while promoting her latest film ‘Disaster Movie’ in Rome. Then, Keyshia was spotted in her silk and tweed D&G dress at a party last month. She completed her look with brown suede lace-up booties and cute layered jewelry. Kim K attended a video game launch party a few weeks later in her outfit, that was basically the same as Carmen’s — shoes, ponytail, and all.

* My choice: Hmmm. Well. Carmen is the first to get shut down because she looks a mess! Her dress doesn’t fit properly, and look at that ponytail. Moving on. I’m mad Kim wore the SAME thing Carmen did, especially because they were both in the SAME movie and promoted it together! With Keyshia, I first hated those brown booties she wore, but once I got a closer look, and admitted she accessorized hers the best, my vote goes to Keyshia. The dress fits her shape so well, and she looks soooo pretty!

Okay. How random that I’m doing a Yung Berg post. LOL. The only reason why I decided to do this post is because Yung Berg was here in New York, not too long ago, and told radio host, Angie Martinez (I love her), that he wrote this song about Solange!

“I wanna give her the business! [*laughs*] Yeah, I just like the way her swagger matured. You used to look at her one type of way, but now that she put out a new record, she has a new look, and its just like a whole new grown up mature look. I like what I see. I haven’t personally met her — I’ve seen her, but I love you Solange. MUAH!”

LOL. How cute! Solange responded (3:13) to his “ode” during her visit to a later dated Angie Martinez show. It was funny, but besides that, I actually enjoyed the video, and think the song is pretty cool. I may put it on a mix cd soon. LOL.

Best of 2008: Show Stopper of the Year

Rihanna has been the most consistent fashionista on the red carpet this year. What I think sets her far apart from the others, is the fact that she seldom lets us down — if she ever does, its a guarantee that she’ll hit us with another winner. Aside from the Bajan beauty looking amazing in EVERYTHING, her style is not limited. Rihanna can work the hell out of a slinky Gucci gown, a quirky Zac Posen party dress complete with plume feathers and ruffles, knee-high Balenciaga sandals, or even a conductor hat!

Rihanna was also chosen as the “face” of Gucci’s new Tattoo Hearts collection, and was even the inspiration behind the entire concept. With that, came amazing and exclusive gowns, heels, bags, jewelry — whatever. She still has a huge contract with CoverGirl, and even worked with H&M to design t-shirts for ‘Fashion Against AIDS’.

Besides fashion, Rihanna is a huge beauty buff — you can always find her in the hottest nail colors and trends. But, let’s not forget about those amazing cropped cuts she wore — mushroom, piecey, curled, sweeped, slicked, fluffed, burgundy, brown, jet black, silver hair streaks…the list goes on!

When Rihanna’s not on the red carpet, you may find her producing hits like this year’s ‘Disturbia’, performing on stage, in sexy patent leather dominatrix pieces or wearing something exciting like a jeweled chain link dress by The Blonds, you can either find the young fashionista shopping in LA or Paris, at a fashion show abroad, with her bf, Chris Brown, or out getting her latest tattoo.

When I use the term ‘Show Stopper’, I basically mean the one who always “wows” us, and the one we’re always dying to see. She’s usually the first one to rock the latest trend, and if not — she’ll be the one to wear it the best. Last year, Beyoncé was my choice for ‘Show Stopper of 2007′, but this year — Rihanna rocked my world!
