So let’s face it, this recession is serious. To say that it has affected most of us is most definitely an understatement. Being broke 20-somethings has turned a lot of our inner Fashionistas into Recessionistas. And, unless you are ballin’ outta control, your shopping habits have more than likely suffered. Sure you’ve been eyeing those Louboutins, but can you really afford ‘em?

This season, it’s all about exotic prints. Celeb fashionistas like Victoria Beckham, Chloë Sevigny, and Amber Rose have been spotted strutting their stuff in these to-die-for creations from the Louis Vuitton S/S 2009 collection. Bebe recently debuted their “knock-off” versions, and of course it seems too soon, but this is what I hate & love about fashion. The fact that someone else can replicate your hard work in only a matter of months is kind of sickening, but when you’re on a limited budget, how can you not show your patronage to fast-fashion retailers?!

In the shoe game, Steve Madden is the guy to count on for budget-friendly designer kicks. Like my mother always taught me: “Nothing good is cheap, and nothing cheap is good”, and hey, she’s right! But, these days who really cares for quality?! I definitely don’t like anything cheap, but until I can honestly say that I’m stacking “Rihanna money”, I’ll keep browsing the sale rack.

Each shoe is about 4.75 inches high, black, and feature criss-cross straps, complete with their very own button-closure. The only difference is that the Steve Maddens have that tan underside, and is created from a super-glossy patent leather material — while the YSL (the ‘real deal’) have a more discreet underside with a textured patent leather finish. If I could, I would go for the YSL versions, as they are much more sophisticated. The Steve Maddens look too cheap for $100 — maybe $25?

forever21 giambattista valli KO's by you.

I did a post, back in February, on Rihanna @ Paris Fashion Week. The fashionista managed to attend three separate events in one day. She attended the Chanel fashion show, then the Sonia Rykiel F/W ‘08-09 show, and then finally posed for some photos at a Fendi Paris store reopening.

On her feet, at Fendi, Rihanna wore a cute pair of neon Giambattista Valli platform sandals. Good news for anyone who just can’t get enough of these heels — the knock-off [*clears throat*], I mean “replica” versions, are currently available at Forever21 for only $23!

You gotta admit — you love knock-offs! LOL. The real thing is always best, but when Steve Madden, Forever21, and Bakers come out with your fave style of anything, you run to the nearest computer to order yourself a pair of whatever, in size whatever!
