Star Magazine Celebrates 5th Anniversary

The Pussycat Dolls’ Melody Thornton really surprised me in this ensemble, as she attended last night’s 5th anniversary celebration for Star Magazine at Bardot in LA. Melody’s black dress, which featured some fancy beading and a black lace overlay, paired with black tights and plum lips was a very good look for her. Her fashion choices usually fall flat. Good job Mel.

Definitely one of my fave designs from Alexander Wang’s Pre-Fall 2009 collection, this nude and black corset dress has been spotted on all three fashionistas above. Rihanna first wore her A.Wang dress on a night out on the town last month, after being spotted leaving her friend Kayne West’s NYC condo. She completed her look with black Jil Sander pumps, dark shades, and a metallic Erva tote bag. Paris Hilton attended a taping of The Late Show With David Letterman, where she sported the oh-so popular geometric House of Harlow necklace with black YSL Trib Two pumps. Demi Lovato was the last to wear the same design as she attended a Movie Premiere earlier this week in Toronto. She also completed her look with black YSL Trib Two pumps and silver accessories.

* Though I love Paris’ necklace paired with the A.Wang dress, I have to give my vote to Rihanna, because I think her hair and shades added a little something extra to the look. Plus I’m so over YSL Tribute heels.

- I have to re-evaluate my “girl crush” list. Kim Kardashian is getting closer and closer to #1. She visited LA’s Bar Marmont club for the I “Heart” Ronson Dinner. The turquoise and white dress she wore featured a black piping detail in the front, and was fully black on the back. She also wore her fave pair of Burberry mesh ankle strap heels.

- I love naturals and light colors for spring! Jessica Stroup is def on point this season in a pair of nude Jimmy Choo Corsica sandals (I’ve never seen this color), and a nude Brian Reyes Spring 2009 skirt and top set.

- Right after leaving the pre-taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon at the Rockefeller Center, Leighton Meester headed over to the Parsons Fashion Benefit 2009 Pre-party at Calvin Klein Collection, wearing this structured white Calvin Klein Spring 2009 dress, and Balenciaga peep-toe booties.

- Singer Dannii Minogue, sister of Kylie Minogue, attended last week’s MTV Australia Awards wearing a silver J’Aton Couture dress, peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps, and black fingerless gloves. She’s been keeping up with this edgier look since she cut her hair last month. I love the entire look. Very fierce!

- Freida: Already becoming one of my faves on the red carpet, actress Freida Pinto arrived at this weekend’s Directors Guild of America Awards wearing a metallic one-shouldered Zac Posen mini dress, paired well with silver peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps.
- Camilla: I already expressed my love for Camilla Belle last week when she attended the LA movie premiere of ‘Push’. She arrived looking fab in a crystal-print Alexander McQueen minidress, Jimmy Choo slingback sandals, a Swarovski clutch and David Yurman jewelry.
- Kim: Ohh Kimmi. My love. She was my ‘Most Improved Style of 2008′, and she keeps makin’ Momma proud, as she attended a Superbowl event in St. Petersburg, Florida, wearing a strapless printed Tracy Reese dress with beige CL heels and clutch. I love her in pulled-back ponytails — she looks so pretty!
- Paris: I’m not a big Paris Hilton fan at all, and I think her style of dress is pretty BLAH!, but I fell in love with this embellished yellow Disaya dress. Surprisingly she paired them with well-matched gold and black heels! If only she weren’t so boney.

*My fave is Kim, and that dress is gorgeous! Who would even think to pair it with beige accessories?! Genius!

Halle was spotted in L.A. a few weeks back, wearing this white Yoana Baraschi sundress.
Paris decided to give Halle a run for her money, by sporting the same dress, a few days later.

[In my opinion] Halle kept hers very simple, and laid-back, which made more of a statement.
