There’s no doubt that I’m in love with Rachel Roy’s fusion line for Macy’s. Not only are the styles and trends of this collection right up my alley, but I just found out today that there’s more to come. When most celebs do collab-collections, it’s usually just for a limited time. If you thought all Rachel had to offer was already here, you thought wrong. On the 5th of October and 5th of November, she’ll be releasing more fab pieces. More tops, jumpsuits, dresses, jackets, accessories, and more can be found exclusively at Macys.com & RachelRoy.com. Is it obvious that the girls of Fashionista101.com are crazy about Rachel Roy? — We are! My compadré, Ondrea, attended Rachel Roy’s introduction of her fusion line @ Macy’s Herald Square, while I was over in SoHo at Rachel’s Pop-Up Store event. We received a special invite to her MEDIA-ONLY pre-release event the day before, and couldn’t resist coming back the next day for more. The pop-up store, which is basically a temporary store location at 111 Spring St in SoHo, NYC, will only be open for ten days [Sept. 10 - 20], so be sure to visit and check out the store. If you can’t make it, Rachel’s pieces from this collection are available exclusively at Macy’s stores, and on their website.

If you missed Fashion’s Night Out, shame on you. LOL. The streets were buzzing with excitement as I walked around 7th Ave. and Herald Square. Macy’s was definitely the place to be because Rachel Roy was showing off her collection, Rachel by Rachel Roy. She is drop dead gorgeous!!! Her hair and makeup was on point. The collection looked so amazing!!! It’s street chic with a sprinkle of glamrock. I love the color story of her collection, studded handbags and graffiti clutches. I really enjoyed the event, being in Rachel’s presence and seeing how successful she is inspires me to do what i do. She is truly a real designer.

Rachel Roy - Resort 2010

Rachel Roy’s Resort 2010 collection is one of my personal favorites. Rachel Roy is a designer I would like to describe as a silent threat because she steals the show effortlessly. Rachel Roy sets the bar higher every season. In this collection the color story is fabulous. Her use of navy blues, sun-kiss oranges, and lime greens embody the tropics. The body-hugging dresses and chic two piece ensembles paired with nude heels work well together. The navy blue off-the-shoulder number is to die for, you can never go wrong with a jersey fabric. Overall I give this collection a B+ for its wear-ability and blue lagoon inspired theme.
